LION
The lion and the lamb image is layered in meaning. In Christ, enemies can become brothers at peace. In Christ, the strong protect the weak. Ultimately, this image references Revelation 5:5-6 where the only one worthy to open the scroll to execute judgement and bring redemption is Christ Himself...the mighty Lion of Judah (the King of Kings) who is also the Lamb of God who was slain for us.
God saw our sin that separated us from Him. And so He came humble and innocent though we esteemed Him not. He laid down His life on the cross in our place suffering the wrath we deserved. Then He rose again conquering the grave, offering forgiveness to those who trust in Him. One day, Jesus will come back to judge the world and renew the face of the earth. He will reign forever and ever.
